How it all began?
We moved to the island of Koh Lanta in the fall of 2022 (we’ve shared the backstory here on the blog). Initially, the plan was to stay for a year. However, after a few months on the island, we saw the incredible impact of the small international school our kids attended. They thrived there. Plus, as parents, we transitioned into homeschooling much more smoothly than expected (you can read more about that in our Homeschooling: What You Need to Know post). Seeing all this, we decided to extend our stay.
Was it always easy? No. Did our children suddenly become “better versions” of themselves, or did we become perfect parents? Of course not. In some ways, parenting within the expat community in Asia is much simpler; in others, it’s a bit more challenging.
That’s exactly why we decided to record a podcast about it. We hope our conversation helps you in your own daily parenting journey—by showing that what truly matters is what’s in your heart. It doesn’t matter if you’re living on a sunny Thai island, in cold and windy Iceland, or in our beloved Poland.
