Outdoor isn’t a day out. It’s how we raise independent kids who are curious about the world.

We’re not a travel blog. We’re not a parenting platform telling you how to live. We’re Our Little Adventures — a family that believes we learn the most when our boots are muddy and our pockets are full of conkers and stones.

We believe in raising kids through experience.

Years on the road with our three — Marianka, Jasiek and Basia — and a dog have taught us one thing: children don’t need perfect hotel holidays. They need agency, time in nature, and parents who are actually present. This blog is a record of our everyday life, where outdoor adventures, bikes and books aren’t goals in themselves. They’re the tools that help our kids grow up brave, adaptable and curious about the world.

Why we live this way

People often ask how we manage the logistics of three kids, a dog and actual jobs. The answer is simple: we don’t separate “life” from “adventure.” We don’t wait for the big annual holiday. Our life runs on micro-expeditions — the small, everyday things. A walk in the forest behind the house. The bike ride to school in the rain. A night in a tent in the garden.

For us, nature is the best emotional reset button. When the house gets too loud, we go outside. Not to “go for a walk,” but to let our heads breathe. A bike is freedom, not a sport. Our cargo bike and the kids’ bikes aren’t weekend gear — they’re how we navigate the city, dodge traffic and learn independence on the move. Difficult conditions build character. Wet boots and wind in your face teach more about handling discomfort than any well-meaning conversation.

What you’ll find on Our Little Adventures

This blog is a map of our experiences, built around four pillars that make up our everyday life.

1. Outdoor with kids

We show that nature doesn’t bite — even when there are ticks in it, and we have ways of dealing with those too. We write about camping, layering up properly and why it’s worth letting kids climb trees even when it terrifies us as parents. This is our knowledge base on building resilience, physical and mental.

2. Read the World

Before we go somewhere, we read about it. Books are our window onto the world — they help kids understand emotions, other cultures and phenomena before they see them with their own eyes. We don’t review everything. We only recommend the stories that help us grow.

3. Where to go

We don’t collect destinations. We look for places that let us be close — to each other and to nature. Whether that’s a mountain hut in the Beskids, a campervan in Norway or a wooden house in Thailand. What matters is what the experience changes in us and in the kids.

4. Gear that helps, not hinders

We’re gear people, but pragmatic ones. A cargo bike, a good rain jacket, a light tent — these are our tools for freedom. We test everything in the field so you don’t have to buy blind. If we recommend something, it’s survived the five of us. And the dog.

Who we are

Karo (Outdoorowa Mama) – serce tej operacji. Wierzy, że macierzyństwo nie musi oznaczać rezygnacji z siebie. Promuje ideę Karo is the heart of this operation. She believes motherhood doesn’t have to mean giving yourself up. She champions the idea of the outdoor mum — because to look after others, you first need to recharge your own batteries somewhere quiet in the woods.

Mario is the operational brain, master of logistics and the person who will assemble any bike and pitch any tent. He’s the one who makes our wilder ideas actually happen.

Mania, Jasiek and Basia are our best teachers in paying attention. They’re the ones who show us that a puddle can matter more than the destination, and that a stick is the best toy in the world.

We’re not perfect. We have bad days, a messy house and sometimes we really don’t want to leave the sofa. But we know one thing: when we go outside, something shifts.

Come with us.
