Tel-Aviv

Day 2
Intercom story ended up for us happily. Today awiat us day in the capital of Israel. During preparation to  in Poland, we found information that in Tele Aviv is a zoo / safari with animals “free” living in a large space. A must see and a priority for Mania, who is in love with giraffes and lions.
We had left Ammon’s apartment shortly after 9.00 am. He is quaint individual, perhaps best words described his character are “yeahh … whatever” :-). Nevertheless we must admit that his apartment is in a great location. Zoo is on the outskirts of the city and it took us about 40 minutes to get there.  Ticket price for public transport didn’t surprise us, single fare (one trip) costs 6,9NIS. Hence we walk a lot, instead of eg. take bus for short distances.
Getting back to the safari. The requirement of entry to it is to have a car. It is safer to pass next to a lion, at least with the minimum of protection. However, the option on spot, after paying  7 NIS per person is minibus.  It carries  you through the safari zone, leaves next to the entrance to a normal zoo, then picks up form this same place and left at the exit gate. We deceided to this option and unfortunately regretted. It’s nice when you can decide about number and  time of stops, when zebra or giraffe has opportunity to look through the open windows car. Our bus driver stopped unfortunately only on clear several times repeated requests.
Ordinary zoo is equally interesting. Mani particularly liked the animals farm for children. When is chance to came close to any pet and stroke for example sheep or goat, you have 100% certanity that you meet her. In the courtyard waited for us another surprise – LAME :-). In all this euphoria child’s dad had forgotten about the first principle in dealing with llamas – llama spit :-). When i was holding Mania so that she could stroke llama, it suddenly turned in our direction, looked with dissatisfaction and after a while spit on us both just chewed cabbage. It took us a while to pick the vegetable remnants from Marianna’s and my hair.
The next goal was Jaffa, back days thriving city and port, now one of the districts of Tel-Aviv. The prettiest way to get to Jaffa goes by the seafront promenade, but to reach it we had to come back to the city center by bus #31. Mania had already decided to take a nap, exhausted by emotions associated with visiting the zoo. She waked up when we were at the beach and eating a falafel and shorama.
Jaffa is a magical place, impresses with almost everything. It’s nice to get lost in the narrow, cobbled streets, step into small shops with arts and crafts, or watch from a hilltop the Tel-Aviv. However, we have already kept in our minds that we have to collect from Ammon’s apartment our baggages, which we had left in the morning, and then travel to Jerusalem to absolutely iconic Abraham Hostel.
By the way, we recommend you offline map / navigation for smartphones called “Here”. It works perfectly in Israel so far – repeatedly let us asses where we are, when in the bus no one speak English and the names of the bus stops are only in Hebrew.
We arrived to the Jerusalem around 7 pm. The first thing that stroke us was the temperature, which was significantly lower than in Tel-Aviv. Luckily the hostel is located 10 minutes on foot from bus station.
The first thing, which enrapture in Abraham is its “vibrancy”, you will feel it when you visit it by yourself  and go to common area at the first floor, the huge dinning, playing, party area. In every corner sit a lot of smiling people who either eat something or play games, work on the computer or make music together. Mania despite our and her fatigue, as soon as she saw huge cushions lying on the ground immediately run to and began to jump on them. A moment later she was already in a hammock and screamed, “Mom swing”. If you want to see how lok the hostel form the dreams, then you have to visit Jerusalem :-).

Także rozważałm wyskok do Izraela. Ale cykałem się odrobinę z powodu ostatnich dość częstych napaści z nożem i wybuchów. Zostałem zawstydzony i podjąłem decyzję, lecę. Raz kozie śmierć. 8-)
